Brow Lift

Brow lift surgery can correct a brow ptosis, or a condition where the eyebrow droops or sags. Also known as a forehead lift or a browplasty, this cosmetic surgery procedure can elevate a drooping eyebrow that may obstruct vision and/or to remove the deep worry lines that run across the forehead. These often portray to others anger, sternness, hostility, fatigue or other unintended emotions. By raising the brow to improve the upper field of vision, a blepharoplasty also can correct visual impairment.

Eyebrows droop as a result of gravitational and involutional changes that result in eyebrows that rest lower than their normal position. Other causes of brow ptosis (droopy eyebrows) include facial palsy, tumors, and asymmetry. Natural aging can also cause the brow and forehead to fall due to the skin’s loss of elasticity. Sun, wind, and the pull of gravity also affect the face over time, causing frown lines and wrinkles to develop across the forehead.

A forehead lift is a surgical option to correct sagging forehead skin, brows that hang low and too close to the eyes and deep vertical furrows between the brows. A forehead lift is a common cosmetic surgery that is usually performed on patients in good health between the ages of forty and sixty-five.
