Our practice has added Jeuveau® as a choice for reducing or eliminating facial wrinkles.  Jeuveau® is neurotoxin made from a different form of botulinum, which is the neurotoxin found in BOTOX^®.  Clinical trials have shown that both Jeuveau® and BOTOX^® have a similar safety profile.  Both are equally effective in the treatment of wrinkles.

Jeuveau® has a high rating among patients who have experienced treatment.  In a 2019 survey of patients who received injections of Jeuveau®, 95% somewhat to strongly agreed results appeared “natural looking.”

Juveau® can be used to treat small wrinkles that commonly appear between the eyebrows that won’t go away.  These “frown lines” are called glabellar lines, and they are a common early sign of aging skin.  A treatment with Jeuveau®  temporarily improves the smoothness of those frown lines in adults.  Results can be seen in both moderate and severe cases of frown lines.

As a neurotoxin, Jeuveau®  temporarily affects nerves that cause facial muscles to flex.  When properly injected, this affect temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, restoring a smooth, youthful appearance.

Clinical trials show Jeuveau® temporarily improve sthe appearance of moderate to severe frown lines. In U.S. studies, 68% and 70% of Jeuveau® patients had a 2-grade or better physician and patient-rated improvement in frown lines at Day 30.  In European and Canadian studies, 54% of patients had visible results as early as 2 days after treatment.* And at 5 months after treatment, 38% of patients had visible results with Jeuveau® **

Do not use Jeuveau® if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Jeuveau® such as botulinum toxin type A and human serum albumin. Juveau® patients may experience localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, erythema, and/or bleeding/bruising in the area of the injection.  Common side effects may also include a slight headache in the hours following treatment.  Our team will provide instructions about what to do before and after your Juveau® injection.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR JEUVEAU^® (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs)

Jeuveau® may cause serious side effects that can be life threatening. Get medical help right away if you have any of these problems any time (hours to weeks) after injection of Jeuveau®:

• Problems swallowing, speaking, or breathing, due to weakening of associated muscles, can be severe and result in loss of life. You are at the highest risk if these problems are pre-existing before injection. Swallowing problems may last for several months.
• Spread of toxin effects. The effect of botulinum toxin may affect areas away from the injection site and cause serious symptoms including: loss of strength and all-over muscle weakness, double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids, hoarseness or change or loss of voice, trouble saying words clearly, loss of bladder control, trouble breathing, trouble swallowing.
