When it comes to targeting troublesome areas with fillers, there are a number of options. Two popular fillers are juvederm and voluma, both made by the same company (Allergan).

However, when it comes to covering up frown lines and crows feet, how can you tell which solution is best suited for you?

What is Voluma?

Voluma is designed to add volume, mainly to your cheeks. It has been FDA approved for this use since 2012. The results of volume can last up to two years. Voluma is injected directly above the bone and is ideal for someone who is seeking a fuller or or more dramatic cheekbone.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is an FDA approved dermal filler that utilizes hyaluronic acid to fill wrinkles. It’s also ideal for those with stubborn crows feet or wrinkles around the mouth and nose.

What Is the Difference Between Voluma and Juverderm?

The most notable difference is their longevity. As mentioned, Voluma lasts for two years while Juvederm only lasts one year.

While both can be used anywhere on the face, Voluma is most commonly used in the cheek area whereas Juvederm is more often injected into wrinkles or along the jawline.

What Is the Recovery Time?

The recovery time is about 3-5 days for Voluma and 2-3 days for Juvederm. Both of these recovery processes can include swelling, bruising, or redness. These side effects typically go away in a few weeks.

Both injectable solutions have minimal recovery time which makes them great options if you’re looking to get rid of lines or lift features around your face. You should consult with our expert staff to determine what solution will work best for your needs!

Why Get Injectables?

Injectables are ideal for anyone looking to target specific areas for improvement. Hyaluronic acid, which is what both products contain, works by attracting moisture and filling in wrinkles.
