Attaining the perfect eyebrow shape can be difficult. It can be even harder if brows are light in color or thin in some areas. So, what is the solution? It’s microblading! Dr. Mayli Davis offers microblading as an alternative to penciling in eyebrows every day.

But, are you worried about what you will look like after the microblading procedure? Have no fear using a skilled professional like Dr. Davis means you’re in good hands – and that you will love your results.

What Is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo procedure designed to help fill in sparse or light eyebrows. Instead of a tattoo gun, the treatment uses a small tool with several fine needles designed to make hair-like strokes.

What Should You Expect After the Microblading Procedure?

Immediately after your microblading procedure, your eyebrows will appear much thicker and darker than you may have been going for – which may cause you a little bit of panic. But don’t worry, they will lighten up during healing.

Here are a few other tips to consider:

  • Use Vaseline three to four times per day during the first week to 10 days after your treatment to facilitate healing.
  • Scabbing and flaking can occur – do not pick or pull scabs or skin.
  • Do not wear makeup until you are fully healed and cleared by Dr. Davis to start using cosmetics again.
  • Avoid touching your eyebrows for at least a week after your procedure.
  • Avoid swimming pools, saunas and the gym until the area is healed.

Is Microblading Permanent?

Microblading can last between one and three years, but it can last longer if you take care of your skin and brows. If you don’t, expect to need the procedure again.
To take care of your brows, you’re going to need to change how you take care of your skin. We suggest avoiding harsh exfoliants, chemical peels and products that contain retinol because they can damage your skin’s outermost layer – and take off your new brows.

Does It Scar?

No. Since microblading only makes superficial cuts into the skin to deliver pigment to fill out your brows, no scarring or keloids occur. You can rest easy that your brows will look their best for a long time!

If you want to boost your brows, it’s time to call Dr. Mayli Davis in Colleyville, Texas, to schedule an appointment to talk about microblading. Call 817-778-4444 for more information today.
